Thanksgiving Dinner, Community Center, Thursday Evening

Nov 24, 2011 09:38

So thanks to the combined efforts of Student Council members and non-members alike, a Thanksgiving dinner had been put together in the Community Center. There were pies, there were casseroles, there were other moddable edible things, and then there were the rolls made out of pie crust.

Thank you, Karla.

Come in and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner where ( Read more... )

Maybe Annie wasn't so disappointed that she couldn't go home for Thanksgiving. She would make the best of it, and was here and smiling and checking to make sure everything was going right, and - oh god, what were those rolls?

Rapunzel spotted her helpful big sibling and offered a tentative smile. "So can you explain this to me?" Holidays were kind of a foreign concept for her, really.

"Sure!" Annie said, always happy to help even if she'd been held up with Thanksgiving omg sorry. "So hundreds of years ago, the Pilgrims came over from England in search of religious freedom and landed at Plymouth Rock, but the problem was that they hadn't organized or planned very well, and they had a super difficult winter. So the Native Americans who were already here decided to help them out, and they brought food and helped the Pilgrims survive their first winter here. And okay, maybe that was a bad move on their part in the long run, but now every year on Thanksgiving, we gather around with our families and friends and have dinner and celebrate the things we're thankful for."

It was almost like she'd had that prepared. She hadn't. But.

Jon wasn't the type to turn down food, and he'd even brought a pie and a couple bottles of sparkling cider to add to the buffet.

And since he was a smart Fandomite, he had listened to the radio and was making sure to skip the rolls. They looked a little... Karla-like.

This all seemed super low class and it had been a while since Chuck dealt with something like that, so excuse him if it looked like he was picking at his food like a five year old who didn't know what any of this stuff was.

Hey, at least he wasn't spending Thanksgiving at the bar.

Raven sat down near Chuck, pleased to see a familiar face.

"Hello, Chuck," she said. "I hope you have been well."

Today I was awakened after five hours of sleep NOT due to a fire alarm. This was just my family being loud.

Huh. So you're saying Topher is the only one who's ever feared her cooking with all of his heart? Interesting hypothesis, but I'll need some proof...

I think it's in the Fandom handbook by now. Under the heading 'All Karla's Cookies Belong to Warren'.
