So the night was starting weird, but that didn't stop Caroline from grabbing Jake's hand and pulling him over to the photographer and pointing him to the stool. "Oh my God, just sit down already!"

"You sure about those antlers?" Jake asked as he was a good boyfriend and took a seat on the stool, patting his knee for her to sit down. "I'd make a cute moose."

At least he knew where she intended to place herself in this picture. "Just remember you asked for it," she told him, snagging a pair of insanely glittery moose antlers to stick in his hair as she took a seat on his leg.

He had so been expecting her to veto the antlers, but sure. Snorting, he wrapped his arms around her. It did keep him from resting his chin on her shoulder as he'd poke out her eye otherwise.

She stretched up and kissed his cheek as the flash went off. "Yes, you're totally cute," she agreed. And okay, maybe she didn't have to hate all the moose everything that surrounded her.

He pushed the hat back a little as he leaned in to kiss her cheek in return. "You okay?" he asked in a soft murmur while the photographer checked if the picture came out well.

She nodded her response, reaching up to give his antlers a little flick. "Bet you wanna wear those all night now, huh?"

"Are we allowed to keep them?" Jake asked, because there was a good chance he would if she let him.

"You look about eight feet tall with antlers," she warned, thinking he was going to look like an idiot all night. "But sure, consider this a perk to having me as your date."

Jake gently pushed her to her feet so they could make way for the next in line. "I thought the perk was having the hottest girl in school dancing with me."

"No, that's a given," she replied with a smirk before she turned and snorted at the full image of Jake with antlers. Yeah, she was so not looking at him anymore.

Jake rolled his eyes, having a feeling she'd be doing that for the whole of the evening if he kept the antlers on.

"You can just steal these after and give them to me as a gift," he suggested, taking them off and putting them back to the side.

"That's my boy, always thinking of me," she said, hand patting his chest before she grabbed his tie to pull him away from the backgrounds. "Where to now?"

"I don't know," he looked mostly amused as she tugged him along. "I get the feeling you're driving right now so you tell me."

"Um..." Caroline looked around and it was difficult to decide what needed her attention first. She gave Jake's tie a tug to pull him in close so she could press a quick kiss to his lips again.

Maybe it would help ease that she was going to send him off on his own for a bit.
