It was entirely too hot here, in this new place the island had moved to. And scuttlebutt said there were pyramids somewhere over on that new land. It wasn't that Rude disliked pyramids per se, it was just that he'd had a bad experience with one trying to crush him

K stepped into the post office in time to see his staff parade around the room.

"Knock it off," he growled before stepping up to the counter. He gave Rude an appraising look. "Nice hat," he said dryly.

Rude watched Kay with a blank, expressionless look.

"No," he answered. "It... isn't."

"And you're wearing it because?"

"To refuse would have been... rude."
