Tonight, Robin had a new obsession. No, it was not anything drink-related. How dare you suggest she actually do work at work? That was what Tino was for.

No, tonight Robin was leaning on the bar, her thumbs busily flicking across the screen every couple seconds. Occasionally, her efforts were punctuated with a, "Yes, finally." More often, though, ( Read more... )

Isabela had given up her search of the beach once the light had started to fade from the sky. There were no washed up pieces of the Siren's Call, nor was there any sign of that stupid book.

Still, it wouldn't do to be caught outside and so she'd made it into town. It'd taken some careful slinking to avoid the city guards when she finally did find what looked like a tavern.

And there went another first impression, because rather than trying to impress, she was blinking up at the harsh lights. At least she managed not to do a crab walk around the band of corpses? "This dump better have hot food," she grumbled as she made it up to the bar, wondering if she was going to have to bargain with an abomination for it.

"We can do like, pretzels?" Robin offered, catching that and looking up as she failed yet another challenge. Aaaaand given how Isabela looked, and the fact that Robin didn't recognize her at all, Robin was gonna go ahead and ask, "Rough day?"

"You go right for the golden question, don't you?" Isabela remarked, there was some amusement there as far as she could manage.

With a sigh, she took a seat and rolled her stiff shoulders. She'd be feeling that for a while. At least the woman in front of her wasn't an abomination and she was going to take that as a win. "I think rough sums it up rather adequately. I don't suppose you could tell me what this place is named?"

I got a piece of paper in the mail today that says I'm licensed to teach kids.

That should frighten you all, in light of the highbrow content of this post.
