Kappa Delta Gremlin Fun Run, Park+ Streets, Tuesday After Classes

Mar 15, 2011 09:17

It was a clear early spring morning as the sorority gathered at one end of the park for a 5k Fun Run. The registration table (bedecked in pink and green, natch) held bottles of water, logo t-shirts, and a basket to collect donations to the child abuse foundation, and the route was marked off with pink and green ribbons tied to trees and street ( Read more... )

Before the event, chat with your friends, grab an extra water bottle, or try to solicit last minute donations from people on the street.

Or walk, if that's more your speed, through the streets of Fandom Island. The route is marked with pink & green streamers.

Emma did more of a jog than a run. She was in good shape and everything, but she didn't want to tire herself out more than she had to before work.

Kate ran. She didn't mind tiring herself at all today. She welcomed it; a nice bit of physical exhaustion to go with the mental unease.

It actually felt kind of liberating.

This was actually a very interesting exercise for Karla. Though she handwavily kept up her weapons training--mostly to avoid getting yelled at by Lucivar when she got home--she didn't really spend much time at the gym or working on cardio exercises or the like.

Jogging this was even harder than she'd expected and she found herself slowing to a walk a lot. She still didn't have much in the way of endurance anymore. She'd used to, but that was before...well, any of the times she'd acted like an idiot with Craft.

Something to remember.

For those who pledged to support the girls, or random passersby that want to ogle girls in running gear.

Ogle girls in running gear? That was definitely something Alex could get with so when happened to see the whole run taking place, he found a spot on the route and decided to stay awhile.

Emma could sense a familiar mental presence along the route, so she slowed down just enough to give Alex a wave and a wink.

Considering how many cute girls were in the sorority, she hoped he was enjoying the view.

Oh, he was, he was. When Emma passed, he even gave her an appreciative wolf whistle and waved. See how nice he was, not even trying to distract her too much? He'd just try and see her at the finish line.

Shamrock shakes for those who participated! Or, if you are a member of the community & want to buy a shake, the proceeds go to Prevent Child Abuse America. Talk with sorority members and tell them how awesome they are.

Emma still wasn't used to the concept of Shamrock Shakes - nothing should be that green - but they were tasty!

"Look at that, you made it all the way to the end!" Alex said, laughing. "And here I thought you might be riding in on a taxi or something."

Teasing, really, he was just teasing!

"I thought about using a rickshaw as my chariot, but I didn't have time to bedeck it in pink and green," Emma teased back. "Do I strike you as that much of a couch potato?"
