After this morning's onion incident...s, Jaina was just hoping she wasn't going to walk into anything weird when she got to work. And sure enough, there was Tino, staring warily at a crate of cocktail onions, like he wasn't sure if they were all about to start talking or not ( Read more... )

It was amazingly fast, traveling thousands of miles by walking through a portal rather than boarding multiple planes and dealing with security and the annoyances of the other passengers. Dimitri realized how typical it was that such ease was reserved for those with monetary means. But then, Dimitri had been enjoying his increased means as evidenced by the rich leather duster hanging from his broad shoulders, just hiding the fresh designer clothing beneath.

He entered Caritas, soaking in the familiar setting with new eyes and smiled to himself as he sat at the bar, secure in the knowledge of how the magic there had worked. "I thought I might see you here," Dimitri remarked, lips curling into an amused smile that hid his fangs quite well. "A month changes so little."

Jaina could feel the prickly sensation of her danger sense going off, but it wasn't strong enough to do more than make sure she kept alert. Something to keep an eye on, and if it got worse, she probably needed to intervene somewhere.

For the moment, she greeted Dimitri with a smile and said, "I'm still predictable that way. I didn't think I'd see you back here yet."

"I had some business to attend to at the gym in the morning," he told her. It was true, after all, just not likely the business she would expect. "It fit into my schedule to make the trip a little longer, so I thought a stop into your bar would be welcome." Dimitri's voice hadn't changed, his mannerisms were all the same, there just happened to be evil lurking within and red rings around the iris of his eyes. Luckily that wasn't too obvious in the lighting of a bar. At least not to anyone with normal vision. "You're looking...very well."

FYI, I don't cry when I cut onions. I cry when they're being cooked. IDK.
