Edmund returned from the counter with two coffees and then returned for the plates of food, which he then placed on the table.

"This doesn't really count as breakfast," he pointed out as he sat down across from Jo.

Jo reached for her coffee, wrapping her hands around the cup. "It's food eaten in the morning," she pointed out with a grin. "Totally counts."

"Breakfast," Edmund protested, "is bacon and eggs and toast and grilled tomatoes and baked beans and tea." Not that he had tea this morning. It was a terrible Fandom habit.

"And what exactly were you planning on doing to burn all that off?" She was totally teasing him.

"I'll have you know I always stay in excellent shape," he replied after sipping at coffee. "You could come running with me."
