Tonight, Robin came in and immediately yelled, "Thumb war! Loser has to do inventory!"

And that was how Robin and her weirdly large hands forced Tino into counting all the bottles tonight.

Tyler had, through incredible cleverness, totally forgotten Tony's birthday.

It was a good thing he was pretty sure Tony had forgotten it, too. Also that a night out at Caritas -- with Nathan and Steve and without, he (mostly) hoped, anything to kill -- would make a decent substitute for a celebration.

He took a stool at the bar, waggling a few fingers in a wave. "Evening, Robin. Why's Tino pissed off tonight?"

He wasn't actually sure Tino was, but there usually seemed to be something.

"He lost the thumb war and has to do inventory," Robin told him cheerfully, like this was a totally normal thing. "What can I make him get for you?"

"Sweet tea vodka and lemonade," Tyler decided. Which was weird -- he was usually a beer guy -- but he'd tried one almost by accident and found it freaking addictive. "You assign responsibilities with thumb wars? I might have chosen the wrong job."
