It was her day off. There was absolutely no reason for Mary to be in the lobby right now except that she wanted a Snickers bar from the vending machine. She waved at Gunther as she crossed the lobby, counted out her quarters, and entered the correct amount into the vending machine. About mid-evening, a disgruntled looking woman walked in the front doors of the hotel, a small satchel in tow.

"I am never travelling with Portalocity again," Lulu grumbled, as she walked up to the front desk.

"Lulu! I didn't know you were arriving today," said Mary, beaming as she ushered off the NPC clerk who was working today. "Had a rough trip, I take it?"

But Lulu smoothed her expression and smiled at Mary. "But it is definitely good to see you. It's something of a surprise trip; I didn't really plan it ahead of time. I do hope you have a room available?"
