Francine had sent out an e-mail of handwavey to the members after Ethics yesterday, and called ahead to the Perk to make sure there was room to accommodate the group

Coffee, indeed. There were even serve-yourself meeting containers of the regular stuff, for those who didn't want to go up and order something with whipped cream and syrup, and an array of muffins, scones, and cookies on one table. Not courtesy Francine this time, since the Perk staff weren't too keen on people bringing baked goods in.

"Saetan Daemon SaDiablo," Karla replied promptly, leaving off his assorted list of titles only by force of will. "She thinks her mother wouldn't approve."

"He's not demon-dead, though!" Karla exclaimed, Totally Missing The Point. "He's a Guardian. It's very different. And what would that have to do with the baby?"

"You can take him tonight if you want," Francine said, if a little reluctantly. "I think Katchoo has her baby tonight, and they seem to set each other off." Of course they did. They had sensors. "Is Pixie Dust open on Saturdays?" No, no, it's not.
Re: Mingle and Eatglacial_witchNovember 21 2009, 19:27:59 UTC
Karla sensed Francine's reluctance, perhaps because of her own fear concerns about having the baby on her own. "You can keep him an extra night if you'd rather," she said quickly. "Whatever you prefer."
Stupid Pixie Dust "If it isn't, we can go another day." Karla frowned. "If we had him for longer--" and that wasn't a complaint! "--we could just call in a tailor and have all his clothing made. They'd fit better that way. But no point calling a tailor if we'll be giving him back just as the clothing was arriving."

"That might also be a bit much to spend on a class assignment," Francine said, balancing the fun of pretending --- WHAT IT WAS FUN FOR HER --- with the reality of not having a royal bank account. "We could check Things Reborn, too - they probably have some cute baby clothes."
Re: Mingle and Eatglacial_witchNovember 21 2009, 19:39:49 UTC
Karla was already assuming she'd bankroll the baby clothes--since she had no idea what babies wanted or needed most of the time, she was planning on throwing herself whole-heartedly into those few things she did know.
Baby Merlin was going to have a bottle shoved at him every few moments and a princely wardrobe. Other than that, Karla was kind of at a loss.
"Things Reborn is good," she agreed with a nod. "Ummm...if I'm gonna have him, could you show me how to hold him? I...don't really know how."

That would require getting him out of the baby-sling-thing, which might take a second and not necessarily please him, judging from the slightly-computerized whine, but Francine did so anyway. "Sure!" She put an arm under the... okay, let's face it, doll, and her other hand under its head, to hand him over to Karla. "You just have to make sure to support their heads - or you would if it was a real baby. They're kind of floppy until they get a bit bigger."
Re: Mingle and Eatglacial_witchNovember 21 2009, 19:52:40 UTC
Karla gingerly held her arms out for Wee Baby Merlin--then drew back a bit. "What if I'm too rough and hurt him?" she asked. "I don't want to hurt him."

"Well, I suppose the demon bit would cause some objections." That much he knew.

Yes. Merlin. With the stupidest name ever.

Of course, Karla was still underestimating how happy Francine was at having a baby, even a creepy-looking, vocal one.
"Pixie Dust tomorrow afternoon at handwavy? I can take him with me tonight, if you like. Or do you want an extra night and I can take him tomorrow?"
