Rose sat on the mat, stretching carefully and glancing around for people to chat with before the matches.

Rose probably saw Elena coming, since Elena was Not Entirely Herself. A little floaty and a lot distracted.

And then, Elena was flopping down on the mat next to Rose.

"Hey," she said, and her eyes were glowing. Shhhh, she was allowed to be an idiot.

Oh yes, Rose saw Elena coming - and Rose perhaps had had a bet with herself if Elena would trip over the mat just there. She won the bet, of course. She wasn't betting against her friend like that.

"Hey," she replied, sounding totally amused but unable not to grin with glee at Elena's obvious happiness.

Kennedy, huh? Karla looked around for the other girl as she stepped onto the mat. If all went well, hopefully Kennedy would let her lose with dignity.

Or, even better, had somehow missed hand-to-hand combat when she was learning how to use the crossbow and the other weapons Karla had seen her use during the veggie invasion.

That said, Kennedy had seen what Karla had been flinging around during the veggie invasion and aside from still being pretty wigged by it was thinking 'don't piss her off' would be a good rule of thumb.

"So would saying I could go easy on you be a good idea, or a bad one?" she asked with what she thought was a charming sort of smile.

And here, Karla thought that Kennedy was just being nice. "Oh, would you?" she asked, looking positiovely delighted. "I'm lots better than I was at the beginning of the summer, but still, I've only been training since the beginning of the summer."

Then, feeling a little guilty she was robbing Kennedy of a good fight, she offered, "Or, if you want, I could use some basic Craft solely for defense--you know, shields, airwaking, stuff like that. That might even things up a little."
