"Not that I don't wish you visitors, as that's terribly unkind, but I would be quite hurt if you had very important loved ones stop in and had not informed me of such. Good morning."

"Thursday would be quite pleasant indeed," Alice said brightly. "I've the whole day free, we can do whatever we should like. There have to be doors somewhere in the woods. That's what woods are for."

"A compass, then," she agreed with a laugh. "It's convenient that the woods here aren't terribly large. One could simply pick a direction and walk until one found daylight again, provided the trees didn't move around when one wasn't looking."
