Our Lady of Fandom, Friday afternoon

Unaware that most people would change a sign such as the one standing outside of Our Lady of Fandom with, say, their hands, Castiel went out at about lunch time and stood wiggling his fingers around to rearrange the letters.

the sign said, in English, Spanish, and Sanskrit, followed by its usual declaration of catering

On the way to the park, Dean passed the church and on impulse ducked inside. He wanted to make sure for himself that Cas was down with Chuck's plans.

Also part of him just wanted to check up on the angel.

"Cas? You here?"

Castiel looked out from where he was seated -- tucked away near the confessionals in the one spot of the church that got wireless reception.

"Dean!" He almost sounded excited to see him. "You're in town for the weekend."

"Yep," Dean said, smiling a little. It was surprisingly good to see Cas. "Have to check up on the brother and all, don't I?"

Castiel blinked. "You have concerns for him?"

Sam hadn't talked to Dean that soon, had he?

There was a knock on the open doors before he looked around the church.

"Castiel? Wingman, you in here?"

Garcia had to meet the angel, after all. It had to be.

"Wingman?" Garcia repeated. "Are you taking him out drinking, too?"

He grinned and shook his head.

"Not quite. You'll get it when you start talking."

Castiel stepped out from behind the confessionals -- either from the hallway there, or perhaps he'd been sitting with his laptop, enjoying the small hotspot.

"Derek. Who's your friend?"
