Cable arrived with Jan (of course) and put her safely in the kiddie area before even thinking about mingling.

When he returned, he had vague plans about maybe putting extra fencing around the kiddie area. Maybe a turret...

One part of Arthur was bristling at having to be evaluated; however, it was a decidedly tiny part opposite the rest of him, which was too used to being judged in terms of his skill to see this as anything other than the so-manyth time in his life where he had to prove himself.

So he was quiet, leaning against an available vertical surface while he waited for the advanced section to come up.

Sectionals

Ghanima and Tyler will be leading the various groups in exercises, and watching how you work with (and against) each other.

Because this isn't Fight Club if you aren't being pushed to your limit.

You've got Ghanima leading you through the Judo throws, Muay Thai strikes, punches, and other things you've been learning over the past few months.

Turtle worked very hard to get through the exercises, concentrating on getting them right and doing them effectively. Some of her inexperience was definitely showing, but so was a lot of her improvement, as well.

For someone who put up such a good appearance of not paying attention or caring, Katchoo had apparently picked this stuff up pretty quickly. Her form was still next to nonexistent, though, and she was still more reactionary than controlled by a long shot -- good for one or two abrupt and effective attacks, but near useless in a spar.

Anyone. Any level. With or without powers, so long as everyone agrees. And make sure you have a spotter, especially if you're working with someone new.

All those exercises were very nice in getting the blood going, but Minsc did not come to fight club for exercises, he came to fight club to fight! And he just may have some impressing to do, too, though since he did owe Lady Glinda a drink after this, he kept telling himself that no matter who he fights, he was not to fight until he passed out as usual. He just had to keep reminding himself to fight up until just about that point...

After going over the exercises, Turtle was feeling like she had it in her to put them to more practical use, glancing around a little to see if anyone might want a spar. Hopefully someone on her level or, if not, someone who'd at least maybe go a little easy on her without making it obvious that they were doing that.

Daisy hadn't needed the exercises to tell her that she did things way too by the book, but it certainly did quite a bit for highlighting the fact. She bounced a little on her feet, feeling up for a spar to help push her toward thinking more...well...on her feet than all that.

Before the groups broke into sectionals, Karla shyly approached the male who had done the talking. "Excuse me, my lord--I mean, sir," she said, accidentally addressing him as she would a Court's Master of the Guard. "I am new here and don't know your rules. But I wanted to know if I would be able to participate using a shield over my hand. It's for protection, you see."

She turned her hand palm-up, and slid the serpent's tooth out from under her ring-finger nail. "It's quite venomous. I feel it's best to take every precaution to keep someone from being scratched. Will either the tooth or the shield prevent me from participating?"

Magic. Right. Tyler glanced to Ghanima for help, but she seemed to be busy.

"That's considerate. Now show me the shield," he said. "I need to see what you're talking about."
