"Sit here," John instructed, pointing Ronon to a place by him as he packed sand into the bucket to create a turret.

"That mean I'm the monster?" Ronon verified, crouching by the sandbox.

"I told you that before!" John reminded him, even if he'd never mentioned it, the idea was so clearly perfect when considering Ronon's appearance.

Naturally.

"So what's the yogurt for?" Ronon had to ask. The kid's reasoning wasn't exactly clear.

It was probably best not to ask how or why Lois got covered in mud. It was a long walk from the dorms to the park and sometimes little girls tripped and fell and sometimes little girls liked to pretend they were army men diving into a mud-filled ditch. Just accept the fact that she will probably fight you to the death before you got her in a bathtub. That's just how it was gonna be.

"Hi! Hi! Hi!"

"LOIS!" John screamed, waving his arms to ensure she noticed him. "Come play sanmonster!"

"Ooooooooooo!" Sanmonster was the best. She ran over, jumped in the sandbox and did a little somersault thing that ensured that she was covered in mud and sand now.

It was totally what army men would do, shut up.

Wow, Lois was so cool.

"Awesome!" John enthused, eyes wide. "You're like, like a fighter guy!"

It was probably best not to try to figure out how Savannah had gotten from the dorms to the park on her own, wearing a bag on her shoulder that dragged on the ground a bit.

It was even better not to ask her as you might get a lecture about what a big girl she was as she was four now and could go places by herself.

When she spotted people, she ran towards them.

"Coach Dex," she said happily.. and may have tackled his legs in a hug.

Ronon peered down at the little girl gripping his leg in confusing until her words registered.

The cheerleaders were all midgets.

"Hey...you." Like he could tell which was which when they were all small.

Savannah smiled up at him with bright blue eyes.

"Are you having a good morning?" Her mommy had taught her to be polite, after all.

How to answer that one. "It's been a morning," Ronon tried, noticing the girl had drug a bag along with her. "Where you goin' with that bag?"

A typical morning for Lindsay involved only two things:

a. Getting coffee
2. Walking her dog Martha

Heading to the park after getting said coffee, she stopped at the sandbox and the appearance of Ronon surrounded by very small kid-like people.

"Friends of yours?"

Ronon made a face at her mention of friends. "The kid with the hair's my CO, everyone else is...small. Fandom." It was the only explanation he had.

Lindsay just rolled her eyes. "Yeah. Right. Looks kind of young to be enlisting."

"Looked kinda young yesterday, too," Ronon admitted. "Just not that young." He was amused that she still didn't believe him on some of the weird Fandom things.

Penelope was amazed to see such a sandbox, not that she knew what it was when she saw it, just that kids were playing in it.

She stood off to the side, shyly watching, sucking on her thumb.

Okay, so maybe Ronon had a soft spot for Penelope.

"Hey kid," he said, making his way over.

She looked way up at him and popped her thumb out of her mouth.

"Good morning, Mr. Dex," she said quietly, politely. "What's that?" she asked, pointing to the sandbox.

"A sandbox," he answered, bending down to hear her better. "Which actually matches its name." Unlike most Earth things.
