Caritas, Saturday evening

It was supposed to be Brooke who opened Caritas today, all part of her new job. Unfortunately for Brooke, her twin sister Jaina had attempted to kill her while she was suffering from a rare tropical disease.

Unfortunately for Jaina, she hadn't actually killed Brooke, who was now just comatose in the clinic, so the fact that she was opening up

"Oh, sweetie," Hermaphroditus gave her a smile, reaching up to gently brush a strand of her hair out of those pretty almost eyes of hers. "I've just been there, done that, and came right on back again. I'm glad to help."

Hermaphroditus returned the smile softly. "I just hate to see such a pretty thing getting all distressed."

Temari blushed at that, cooing in response. "You're a pretty thing too."

"Oh, thank you, darling," Hermaphroditus preened for a moment, smoothing out his blonde hair. "I know. So, tell me." He brought his hand down and reached for her hand, to take it strongly in her own to offer the girl support. "Now, tell me, really, what is it about these men that are causing you so much pain that makes it worth it?"

"His identical twin brother, he wants to tear it apart."

Hermaphroditus' breath caughted slightly; twin brothers were such a sensitive subject for him right now. He tried, of course, to devote all of his attention to the girl's problem, but he found a light sob escaping him before he could help it. "That's terrible," he gasped. "Having a twin brother is such a special thing; I can't imagine why one would want to tear you apart. If only there were a bear around!"

Temari clutch her hand tightly. "Have I upset you?"

"It's nothing," Hermaphroditus said quickly, shaking his head. "Really. It's just...today I...I found out that my twin brother was not eaten by a bear all those years ago, but, instead, we left him in the past, where he went on to masquerade as my grandfather instead."

Temari blinked a few times, trying to figure that out. It wasn't working.

She she went for the usual method of comfort, pulling Hermaphroditus into her plentiful bosom. "I'm so sorry."

If realizing that his grandfather was really his twin brother got him pulled into those breasts, why, Hermaphroditus wished he had been triplets. He gratefully took her hug, drawing an arm around her to return it; he closed his eyes and sighed warily. "Oh, the fate of twins, destined to be tragic! But, let me tell you, honey, if you need someone, anyone, to show that evil twin brother of your man his piece, you come to Hermaphroditus Sparkles, and she will set things straight!"

"I will, Sparkles!" She had no idea why it was so natural to call her that, but it just was.
