Charlotte chuckled a little bit, unable to help herself. "Very traditional, then," she observed, amused. "I'm afraid it might be a little out of my reach to book an exhibit of any of them, but perhaps I can keep your tastes of oils and Italians in mind when I do other bookings."

"Don't let me put you out at all," Nathan said, politely.

Charlotte shook her head, giving Nathan a light smile. "You wouldn't be. It's only my job, you know, to try to find what my audience would like and give it to them."

"Great," Charlotte said, beaming a little extra hard as if that could cover the fact that she didn't know what she'd do if she wasn't able to book something that seemed to fit the bill. "Good."

"The party looks great," Nathan told her. "Looks like everything went off without a kitch."

"Oh, God," Charlotte drew in a breath, hand to chest, eyes wide. "Don't even say that. You'll just jinx it. I've been on the edge of my seat all evening trying not to think of some completely off the wall thing happening, like...like...I don't even know, something, although I suppose a bunch of the girls turning into boys is enough for one day, although I don't if all this oddity about the island is equalized or evened out or anything like that."

"I had some in my class," Nathan said, with sympathy. "I find acting like it isn't happening helps me get through the day."

"One of my employees and a nice girl who's just really enthusiastic about the gallery both came to me earlier regarding their conditions," Charlotte said, almost with a tone of importance. It was almost like babbling about it helped to show that she was adapting to the situations, really. "For a moment, I almost thought that it was my other employee playing a trick on me, what with his whole shapeshifting thing."

"You seem to be handling it well," Nathan said. Not that he had any reason to want to be sure she could handle weirdness okay. Though if asked he'd claim the reason was Peter.

"Oh, thank you!" Charlotte said, straining the limits of her cheeks with her grin, determined to convince anyone and everyone that she wasn't really freaked right the hell out by all of this stuff, really. "I like to think I am, too!"

"Oh, well," Charlotte, face suddenly red and all this effort at trying to seem completely cool as a cucumber making her feel all panicked inside the swimming of her already stress-strained head, shook her head, waving a hand to negate Nathan's statement, "not anything, of course. I mean, not everyone's perfect; no one could handle anything."

Like marriage.

Charlotte laughed nervously, hand covering her face in what she hoped appeared to compliment the gesture when, in fact, it was mostly serving to just cover her face filling with red. "Most works," she agreed.

And all his congenial agreeing to her statements. Hoo. Was it a little warm in here, or was that just her complete and utter neurosis?
