There's a little guy in scruffy jeans lingering near the HELP WANTED sign.

"Hullo. Are you the manager?"

*Takes in Hurley's application. Takes in Hurley.*

"Cool, dude. I started myself by taking tickets in a movie theater in Palisides Mall back in Jersey. What hours do you want?"

*considers hours carefully*

1pm shift taken yet? I could do that.

I have a free slot, but you would have to be here at noon to set up. Is that okay? Which days do you want?

I'm going to start you on the refreshments station -- just pull your hair back and wear something clean. I'll show you how to work the popcorn popper before the first shift.

March of the Penguiins? Hmm, sounds interesting.

*Smiles, happy to see that at least one girl has applied*

"Elizabeth, hmmm? Pretty name. And you're English -- do you know Charlie here?

The penguins movie is a terrific example of the nature documentary form.

Would you be okay with taking tickets and sweeping the place up? It's not glamorous, but I pay well. We're here noon to midnight, Friday, Saturday and Sunday -- you can work twelve or six-hour shifts."

*Smiles back*

I've seen him around the campus of school, but that is all.

If you show me how to "take tickets" I would be delighted to do both.

That's fantastic. Taking tickets is ... um, you know how at a movie theater, after you buy your ticket, there's the guy inside who tears it and gives you half back and says "The movie is in theater three, upstairs, thank you, enjoy the show"? Except we only have the one screen, so you just have to smile and say "Thank you, enjoy the show."

Nothing to it.

Can I put you down for all day Friday and six to midnight Saturday?

*Self-consciously checks new roster*

I think we have slots open for tickets all day Friday and Sunday 6 to midnight, refreshments after six Friday and Saturday and all day Sunday, and cleanup before six Saturday and all day Sunday. Any of that work for you?
