Outside the Trooper Station [mid-morning]

Jan 20, 2008 11:16

Aren't packages great?

Especially green and purple wrapped ticking ones like the one outside the jail this morning?

The Joker certainly thinks so...

Superman

There's only so many cats one can rescue from a tree and only so many times that a superhero can try circle around the island before he gets bored and decided to check in with the local law enforcement.

Seeing the gift wrapped box with a tag reading "To: The superdoofuses" gave him pause. When he scanned the "gift" with his X-ray vision, Superman began to frown. Gifts lined with lead never ended well for him.

Taking the box and flying high in the air to make sure that no civilians wouldn't be harmed by a trap, Superman opened the lid to find a picture of two women and Jimmy tied together.

"GREAT SCOTT!" he swore as he flew down to the police station.

The Flash

The Flash was out looking for crime to stop in Fandom. He was a little disappointed so far, having been told another superhero had beaten him to saving a cat from a tree.

Coming to a quick stop outside the jail when he saw Superman flying in, he exclaimed, "What is it, Superman? Is there a damsel in distress?"

A guy could hope.

Superman

"A little present from an old friend," he said pulling out the alarm clock and displaying it to his comrade.

"I don't know the other two, but that's Jimmy Olsen from the Daily Planet."

The Flash

"You know this clock-wielding villain?" he asked, zipping to peer at the ticking alarm clock.

"I believe it's some sort of countdown..."

Superman

"That grinning man with the chalk white face? He's a recurring foe of the Batman. He goes by the name-"

The alarm rings and and explosion of confetti covers the area.

"Joker."

The Flash

"Dramatic. This note doesn't leave much to the imagination," he noted, reading it aloud. "Tick tock, knock knock, guess who I've tied up with a big fat lock? You've got 'til sundown. Guess we'd better move...fast!"

Superman

"I'll take to the skies. The only area I haven't recently scanned was the woods on the other side of the island. Signal me if you find anything," Superman said decisively and threw himself into the air.

"Up! Up! And Awaaaaaay!"

The Flash

The Flash zipped off to scour the island at top speed.
