The park was somewhere Coraline had yet to explore, which was why she was there. She'd been hoping to find a squirrel or two to ask them about radio, but she'd been distracted by the sundial

Luke was out for a run when he saw a familiar figure.

"Coraline!" he called. "I need to apologize."

Coraline glanced at him briefly, not wanting to take her eyes off the sundial for too long. "Why?" she asked. "Did you make the sundial explode?"

"The sundial exploded?"

Easily distracted, that Luke.

"Partly." She pointed at it, and then at the bit which had shot off of it. "I don't think it's a very happy sundial."
