Arrive vkandis_son November 17 2007, 14:29:28 UTC
Find a seat or a place to stand. There's plenty of room, and enough seats for those who need them.

Molly stood behind the chairs and looked around for Katara. She wanted to make sure her friend wasn't alone during this.

Katara was there - she couldn't imagine not going - but she tried to stay back, finding a seat on the grass where she could see, but not in the actual chairs.

Peter gave a nod in Katara's direction. He wasn't going to press if she didn't want company, just wanted her to know he was thinking of her.

"I'm glad to see so many people gathered here today," Zoe said. "I'm not surprised anymore by how well the people in this town come together in a crisis. What we all just experienced was a crisis, and I wish the cost wasn't as high as it ended up being ( ... )

Lighting the boat vkandis_son November 17 2007, 14:39:35 UTC
When all had finished speaking, Karal stepped forward again. "There are candles, enough for all." He pointed at the boxes, filled with long white candles. "Light them from one of the torches, or from each others' candles. You may wish to say a few words before you add them to the pyre."

As each candle landed, the fire became a little bit brighter, spreading out across the wooden boat.

Chris walked over and lit a candle from one of the torches. He stood quietly for a moment, wondering how a stupid boat could have nearly killed them all.

Then he added his candle to the fire, glad they were destroying the thing and hopefully keeping future generations from going through what they had just gone through.

Eve lit a candle from one of the torches. "I didn't know you, kid. Never talked to you. Don't think I even knew what you looked like. But I'll miss you like you were my own. 'cause no kid should die before their time, and you? Definitely did that."

She smiled sadly. "And I start that missing you with this." She added her candle to the pyre.

Savannah's hands were shaking as she lit her candle and looked at the boat for a very long time. It was hard for her to understand how something that seemed so unimposing had almost killed them all.

She swallowed. "I hope the fates let you all rest peacefully now," she said in a very soft voice before she tossed her candle onto the deck of the boat.

Watch the fire vkandis_son November 17 2007, 14:40:12 UTC
The boat was burning quickly, the flames reaching high into the air, but the fire was being strictly controlled by the large cat who was standing, eyes locked on the fire, next to Karal.

As the boat burned, it collapsed in on itself, the heat and smoke and ashes being carried out to sea.

After it's over, mingle if you like, or just head home.

Karal's here should you wish to speak with him, standing next to the fire's remains.

Eve stood next to him for a moment before speaking. "I just wanted to say thank you," she said softly. "For everything you did this week."

Karal was quiet for a moment, then nodded at the people. "It's was them, and you, and everyone. Everyone who had faith an answer would be found," he replied, giving her a small smile. "We did it together."
