Parents Weekend Meet and Greet - Town Park - Friday Afternoon

Oct 19, 2007 05:56

The Student Council had handwavily worked hard to put together a Parents' Weekend that couldn't be forgotten.  And hopefully not because of invasions, animal transformations or strangely shaped fairies.

A good part of the Park was set up with brightly coloured tables and chairs for mingling, relaxing, or simply watching the rare idyllic peace of a ( Read more... )

No one's collecting weapons just now because the picnic's in the town, but the watchful eyes of the Fandom Island Sheriff and School Constable are upon you.

Baroness shot Destro a sharp look as he scowls. There was no need to antagonize the nice security people after all. "Why don't I see about getting our stuff put away, and you see if you can find Billy." He grimaced, but nodded.

She turned back to Roy, "That won't be a problem, will it?"

Roy gave her a smile and shook his head. "No problem at all. I'm glad to be of help."

"No problem," he assured her. "I take it you would prefer storing the weapons yourself?"

((Going AFK for a few hours. Will pick up tags when I get back. Sorry!))

"You are correct." She smiled coldly, "I suppose we're a little paranoid in some ways. Our weapons are one of them."

[ooc: No problem. Have fun!]

"Understandably so, we're responsible for what happens to the weapons we carry," Roy agreed. "I'm afraid I can't leave my duties here so I'll have one of the troopers handwavily escort you."

It's too bad Jillian wasn't able to make it this weekend. Having run security and surveillance in Las Vegas, Ed had no problem spotting the security at the event. "Hi there. I'm Ed Deline, former president of operations at the Montecito in Las Vegas," he said, extending his hand. "If there's any security concerns, I would definitely be able to help."

At least Roy didn't have to ask where Las Vegas was. "Sheriff Roy Mustang," he introduced himself, shaking the man's hand. "A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the offer, but I believe we should have things under control. You should be able to just enjoy your stay at Fandom."

"It's nice to meet you, Sheriff Mustang," said Ed. "You might know my daughter's friend, Mary Connell. I believe she runs the hotel in town?"

"And here I was trying not to assume just because someone is from the same city that they must know each other," he grinned.

"Well, it's more than just a coincidence. Mary is a very dear friend of my daughter and my future son-in-law, so she's practically a member of the family. In fact, I'm the one who suggested she come here in the first place," replied Ed, looking around to check that no one else was in earshot before lowering his voice.

"The whole reason Mary had to leave is that she testified against her father when he went to trial. He got himself some fancy lawyer and managed to not get convicted. Once he was out of prison, Mary was terrified that he would retaliate against her," said Ed, looking worried. "There's a chance someone might come after her one day. I'm here to see to make sure she stays safe."

"I wasn't aware of that," Roy said thoughtfully, frowning a little as he took in the new information. He wasn't exactly surprised that there was another reason why Mary was here. "Security on this island isn't a simple matter, but humans are easy enough to deal with."

"Believe me, these morons who are after her are very easy to handle," Ed reassured him. He may have omitted a few details, such as the fact the morons he was referring to were the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

"And how would I be able to recognise them?" Roy asked.
