Sam wasn't used to having Tuesdays away from the library, so he was using his new free time for necessary molestation to wander around town. The smells coming from the bakery were too good to ignore, so he went in, and grinned when he spotted Peter.

"Hey!" he said. "How's it going?"

"You could go home for a little while and come back, couldn't you?" Sam suggested. "It would suck for you to go the whole summer without seeing your family, but on the other hand, they do some pretty fun stuff here, judging from last summer's activities."

"Hopefully that can be the compromise," Peter said. "Trip or two to New York? No problem. All summer in France? Not so much."

Sam perked up. "Ooh, France could be fun too. But I'm probably kind of biased in thinking that since I've never been there."

"Ma thinks it'd be good for me," Peter said. "I've got nothing against it. Just doubt I'm going to learn much about my powers there."

"You never know. I mean, your powers did first show up when you were at home, didn't they?"

"True," Peter admitted. "I did have those dreams back there. I just don't want to go back to hiding it."

"I can understand that," Sam said. "Could you get into trouble if you can't hide it?"

"Yeah," Peter said, with a wry grin. "Nathan'll be a non-stop pain in my ass. Not dirty"

"*woes for the lack of dirty* That sounds like what Dean would do if I tried hiding my visions. So, I feel your annoyance there."

"Ditto It's the special burden of having a brother who cares about you and is convinced he knows what's right," Peter said. "You feel loved, and also like you want to punch them."

"Do you think Dean and Nathan will ever realize that we're capable of being right occasionally? 'Cause I'm really finding myself leaning more towards the punching side of the line these days," Sam said.

"Probably not," Peter said. "Why? Something happen with you two?"

Sam sighed. "Dean's just been overprotective lately, and worrying about me more than he should. It would be slightly more endearing if I was still five years old, you know?"

"Any reason why he should be worried?" Peter asked.

"Um. I kind of got possessed," Sam admitted quietly. "A demon came to the church to attack the nun that was here, and a bunch of us got caught up in it. I only really found out after the fact 'cause I got knocked out, and I think that's what set Dean off. He's been blaming himself and watching over me more ever since."
