The snakes had cleared out of the church, leaving no sign that they were ever really even there to begin with, which, admittedly, kind of creeped Rosette out. She had extra lights in the confessional today, so she could keep her eye on the corners for any that might have still been lurking, waiting to bite her ankle or something while she cleaned

It had taken Liz some time to decide to come in to the church, seeing how she hadn't stepped inside one since the incident. She gazed around nervously.

"I don't know," Liz replied quietly, "it's seem like I'm not affected, physically, by the damage that my power does..."

"It seemed to be," Rosette said quietly, "that maybe you have that power for a reason, then. And it's just a matter of learning how to control it, if that was what happened..."

"I just ... feel lost," Liz said quietly as she stared at her hands, "everything's happened sofast and I don't know what to do anymore,"

"I can definitely understand how that feels," Rosette responded softly back, hoping the empathy was able to penetrate through the screen. "And, unfortunately, there's really nothing you can do about it except letting it happen and trying to keep up. I know it probably sounds impossible, but try not to focus on it too much. Work on controlling it, of course, but don't let the possibility that it might happen again rule your thoughts. Because that's only just asking it to happen again..."

"I don't know if I'll ever be able to control it," Liz sighed, that was a possibility that she to accept, "but...I'll try,"

"Try? There is no try. Only do, or do not," Rosette nodded sagely and handed over a big fat royalty check to Lucas. "That's your penance, then, how's that? You try to control that power you've got."
