The Perk; Late Afternoonish

Sep 02, 2006 16:06

By some miracle of the heavens above, Alphonse was not on the school grounds, but probably because he was trying to avoid it. Avoiding was good, because he was pretty sure last night's events would easily spill into today's as well if he was easily found ( Read more... )

Rosette had escaped, for a while, anyway, when they discovered that all the coffee was gone. Apparantly, it had been used for far too many hangover cures. She could have just gone and picked up some grounds for future brewing, but Rosette remembered wanting to try some of all the confusingly named drinks she'd remember seeing at the coffee shop. And a coffee shop beat a church anyway. She scratched her head through her habit veil as she inspected the choices, not even knowing where to begin.

Alphonse looked up in the stranger's direction once she walked in, nodding once as a gesture of a silent 'hello'; he wasn't sure if she caught it, but either way he didn't mind much. He couldn't help but watch in slight amusement as she stared up confusingly at all the choices to pick from.

Rosette, in trying to caaaaaasually glance around the shop for signs of what other patrons had ordered, had noticed the boy's nod in her direction. She smiled brightly, abandoning the counter for the moment, and taking the acknowledgement as good enough of an invitation to come over. "Hey, there!" she chirped, leaning against the table a little. She cocked her head to the menu board. "Recommend anything? I'm at a loss when it comes to drinks without alcohol in them, haha."

"Um, I just got what I had last time I was here," Alphonse pointed to the small cup he had, looking to be slightly caught off guard. He wasn't expecting her to actually approach him. "Which was a cappuccino. I'm not much of an expert myself."

Summer hadn't really left the dorms much since arriving in Fandom, so she figured it was time to make the trek into town. The coffee place seemed like a good place to start.

Alphonse thought it would be polite to give a slight wave of hello to the other person walking in.

"Hi," Summer said, also being polite. She then glanced up at the choices.

"Hello. I don't think I've seen you around before, either."

Not that she'd admit it to anyone, but Janice was starting to become a fan of the triple-shot mochas at the Perk. So, summertime be damned, she took a walk to the coffeeshop, ordered one, and took a seat at a table near Al.

After last night's troubling encounter with Callisto, being alone at the house wasn't exactly what she wanted right now. Forced socialization made it much easier to keep up a sense of denial.

Alphonse looked up again at yet another arrival; he didn't know people tended to drop by here frequently-- well, he wouldn't, considering he didn't walk out into town much anyway-- but figured at least so far it wasn't anyone he knew. The woman obviously wasn't a student, but he gave another polite silent 'hello' gesture anyway.

Janice nodded in response. "You a student, kid? You look too young to be anything else."

"Aah, yes I am," Alphonse answered. "Only fourteen, so you're right about that."

The Doctor sat down at a table, happily humming to himself 'The 1812 Overture'.

Well, this man certainly seemed to be in a cheerful mood today. "Hello, sir," Alphonse greeted once he caught his glance.

"Hello there," the Doctor waved. "I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting."

"No, we haven't," Alphonse said. "I guess I don't get out often enough."

Mac is cheerful. Chipper you might say. This is possibly due to the imminent approach of caffeination. It tends to have that effect on her.

She wanders in and orders herself a Cappuccino before finding a seat. She may be swaying a little in time to the music coming from her ipod.

Just barely hearing the music coming out of her little musicbox thingy (heck if Alphonse knew what it was), he spotted Mac, also in a good mood to say the least. He could've sworn he's seen her around before, but unsure about that, he gave a slight wave to Mac anyway.

Mac grinned broadly, tugging the headphones out of her ears. If she was going to be out here in town, she might as well make the effort to be sociable.

She waved back with a quick and perky, "hi," of greeting.

"I don't think we've met before, either," Alphonse said. Actually, everyone coming in that day seemed to be someone he hadn't met yet.
