To paraphrase Margaret Cho:

If you're a human being, and you're not a feminist, you should just fucking kill yourself. Did you come from the stork? Did you just grow from the ground? No. You came from a woman. Thus you should want equal rights for women. If you don't believe in that, the world doesn't need you. Seriously.

PS: Wanting a "traditional life" only makes you an anti-feminist if you believe that all women need to be "put in their place". If it's something you personally want, no one fucking cares. Do it and be happy, but don't judge anyone who doesn't want the same things.

What the fuck is an "anti-feminist"??? I never actually met no woman or a girl who thought that "all women need to be "put in their place".

Not OP though.

A person who believes that women are not equal to men; not-human, an animal, something to control and kept within the whims and rules of men.

Female anti-feminists are rare - and they should be - but they do exist.

I think in a less extreme sense it can also refer to women (my girlfriend's sister, for one) who strongly buy into traditional gender roles and think that there are certain tasks that only men should do.

While I do think that the quote is a bit more extreme then I like, there are women like Phyllis Schlafly who would fit into the definition of "anti-feminists".

-_-;;

I've seen a lot of females who realize that traditional feminine roles are not for them, and try to reject them, and they end up getting it mixed up with women themselves. They'll say things like "Women are so annoying and shallow! I'm different!" "Why are all women so bitchy!" "I'm cool like a guy! I like sports, etc"

It's really sad and speaks to the mentality that's shoved on females - and really, everyone - since birth. It reduces femininity into a list of interests and hobbies.

goddamn, this so much.
Most of the girls I know are always saying how much they hate women, or how all women are bitches and then throw in something about how they are like men.

Liking sports does not make you like a man.
Being aloof does not make you like a man.
Avoiding drama does not make you like a man.
Gossiping does not make you like a woman.
Sewing, cooking, and cleaning do not make you like a woman.
Being "a bad person" does not make you like a woman.

All of those things are traits that individuals have, not genders.

what, towards something I said?
I am perfectly aware that there are more than 2 genders, which is why I said genders as opposed to "men and women". Also Trans people can identify as male or female.
My examples used "man" and "woman" because I was referring to my cisgender friends.
(if you weren't referring to something I said, I apologize. I feel it's important to cover your bases on f!s, because things tend to spiral very quickly here).

Nah, I just wasn't sure where you stood on that, because in the various times I've heard it, 'just because X doesn't mean you're a man/woman' tends to go along with biological essentialism that states that a person's genitals are the only thing that defines their gender.

So if you didn't mean it that way, then cool. :)

Nah, I'm the last person that would assume genitals define gender.
It gets very annoying when people think that (I have some rl friends and family that think that, you should hear some of they shit they spew :c )

I know so many girls that like the former and guys that like the latter. Especially gossip. It's hilarious when my guy friends gossip.

So yeah, I agree with you and the previous comment fully.
