School grounds [afternoon]

Jan 21, 2007 14:25

Mufasa had enjoyed his time at the brunch--even if the free range caramels had gotten stuck in his teeth--but now it was time for more difficult prey.

He crouched behind a bush, tail swishing, and waited for a gremlin to arrive.

It was part of the Circle of Life, after all.

[OOC: Locked to the gremlin, then free for all...]

Oh, look! A gremlin making a rare above ground dash from the school to the dorms! How fortuitous!

The gremlin was already jumpy from being out in the open during the day so it didn't take long for it to notice the big cat with the long teeth and the sharp claws coming for it. With a squeak of terror, it tried to dive out of the lion's way.

Mufasa was too fast for that. He caught the gremlin between his two front paws, then smiled down at it. "Hello."

Salem had spent all of Saturday planning world domination. Now all he needed were some minions...

James Earl Jones let out a warm chuckle.

"Hello, cat," he said, holding out his fingers.

Which was a paw.

He hadn't noticed that, no.

Salem took one look at the paw and decided he liked being in one piece. "Salem Saberhagen."

Zero had a camcorder, and she knew how to use it. "Excuse me! Excuse me, sir lion!" she called as she dashed across the lawn. Pity she couldn't have gotten to him before the gremlin...

James ignored her. He knew he wasn't a lion. How ridiculous.

"Mr. Lion, please, what is your relationship to the lion cub known as Simba?" Zero demanded, shoving the microphone at him.

"Mr. Jones," James corrected. "Perhaps you've heard of me?" He cleared his throat. "This...is CNN."

Come to Fandom, we've got Lions

Weiss, still on the hunt for a solution to the Rita/Parker problem, stopped to gawk for a second.

James looked up from his script--which wasn't there--and waved his hand.

Which he didn't have. "Greetings, young man," he said. "Did you know there are talking cats in this place? How extraordinary!"

"Uh... yeah. Funny about that," Weiss said. He contemplating pointing out the whole talking lion thing, but that was a headache in and of itself. "It's Fandom."

James nodded like he had any idea what that meant. "Of course," he said. "Such things...often occur here?"

Waldo was climbing a distant tree to test its climbability.
