Fifth Floor Common Room - Wed. Morn.

This morning, after waking up screaming at the top of her lungs, "GET OFF MY FOOT! GET OFF MY FOOT!" Annette quickly realized that she was not in Kansas anymore. Literally.

Jumping from her bed, she snatched her robe, shoved her feet into her slippers, and raced through the door before Cally could say anything to her about her totally loosing her

Kabuto was used to being up early. He just wasn't used to being up early when there was nothing to do. Picking up one of his research books, he headed into the common room. There was already a girl there, but he didn't pay her too much attention, since she seemed engrossed in her conversation. So he picked himself a chair and settled into it to read, book on his knees.

She heard footfalls and opened one eye, then two. Annette instantly sat up straight and made sure her robe was tied and all that good stuff.

Co-ed? The dorms were co-ed? Was that in the brochure? Did her parents skip that part?

"Uh," Okay, he was reading, she shouldn't interrupt.

"Uh, hello." Brow raised. "I don't mean to interrupt you, but do you happen to be on the wrong floor or anything? You know, just wondering and stuff, because I wasn't aware the floors were co-ed?" She blinked and hoped that didn't sound rude.

Kabuto didn't respond immediately, finishing the paragraph he was on and muttering something under his breath before looking up at Annette. "I live on this floor, in room 505, with a Mr. Pip Bernadette. Though I've heard some of the rooms are co-ed, as well." He smiled, pushing his glasses up. "Not just the floor."

She had to grin at that, "Yes, um, I meant the rooms, certainly."

She knew she had interrupted him and felt kind of bad for it, but it was best to know who lived on your floor, right?

"I'm Annette Hargrove, room 508, with Cally."

Cally, still in her black pajamas, burst into the door with a panicked look in her eyes.

"What's wrong with your foot!?" she asked.

Annette cut startled eyes at Cally, and came to her feet.

Then she blinked and tilted her head, "My foot?" Pause. "OH! My foot! I was dreaming. A nasty looking troll had a hold of one of my feet while his buddy got ready to clobber it to death."

She smiled, sort of. "I'm sorry. Did I wake you?"

"You were kinda loud," Cally said, rubbing her eyes. "Totally okay, though. I was only gonna sleep in too late if ya hadn't." She smiled. "You okay now?"

"I know, I woke myself up. Honest though Cally, I never ever talk in my sleep. Ever. I am pretty sure of it."

Annette sat back down, her apology still plastered to her face. "You can go back to sleep, I won't bother you, I promise."

River decided she needed distraction from the bad dreams she'd been having lately, and what better way than to make popcorns. She entered the common room and headed for the kitchen area, where she prepared a large pan of popcorns and waited for them to start popping. As usual she decided using a lid was less fun, and as the popcorn started flying around the kitchen she attempted to catch them in her mouth.

Annette watched the other girl walk in and head straight for the kitchen area.

She sat up a bit more, hopeful. She forgot to eat last night and her stomach was having a field day. The smell of popcorn made her mouth water and since the popcorn started flying around the kitchen area, did that mean it was good for everyone else too?

Slowly she stood up and wandered over, "Hey. That's a lot of popcorn. You can catch pretty good. Um, I'm Annette. You wouldn't happen to want to share, would you?"

River grinned. "What you catch you can have. I'm River." She caught another popcorn. "You're new. I'm from another solar system and from the future."

Those questions were always asked anyway, so she could just as well tell Annette before she had to ask. "And you?"

She wasn't going to let that shock her, nope, not now when there was fresh popcorn to catch. "That's a great name, River. I like it. I'm new and from Kansas City."

Annette caught four pieces of popcorn in her mouth right in a row. Five. Six. Seven. She grinned. "I'm a little hungry."

Pippi came out to the common room to investigate the yelling about feet.

"Good morning people!"

Annette waved, her mouth full of chocolate ice cream. After she swallowed, she said, "Good morning!"

"Oooh, breakfast of champions!" Pippi grinned and waited until the other girl didn't have a full mouth to introduce herself.

She smiled, "I'm Annette Hargrove, room number 508, with Cally. And chocolate is great in the morning for breakfast."

The chances of running into Cally on this floor, significantly higher, which is possibly why Mac is up here.

Plus, oh look, new people. She waved in a general greeting, and went to find herself coffee before anything else. As she would.

Annette noticed the other girl enter and go for the coffee, and did a little handwave back. "I'm Annette. I'm new. Room 508 with Cally."

Wow, good concise greeting. "Mac," she said and smiled at Annette. She paused for a second, "You're rooming with Cally?"

"Mac," Annette nodded. "Yep, I am. She's great."
