Outside Danger Shop - 7th period

Blair had contemplated making a sign to support Bel, but he wasn't sure He didn't know they were real vampires! would be all that helpful. Instead he decided to support Bel a little more subtly, and drew a picture of Mr. Winchester and Bel hugging. The stick figures weren't terribly recognizable, so Blair labeled them before writing the slogan.

Bel stopped and stared at the sign.

And stared some more.

Blair bounced and grinned at Bel.

"Nobody's hugging me," Bel declared.

"Not right now, of course." Blair shrugged. "Although, dude, I'm right here!"

Sam just stared at the sign for a few moments before breaking into laughter. "If I make my dad hug Bel, would that count?"

"Depends, man." Blair said. "If you hug your dad then he hugs Bel, it'll sort of be like sharing."

"I don't know if my dad would want to hug me. We're not really that kind of family," Sam explained. "But the mental image of him hugging Bel is awesome."

"Are you kidding me? What do you mean you don't hug? That's horrible!" Blair shook his head.

Conner was running a little late to class today, so he didn't get a good look at the sign. "Is that supposed to be Anders?" he asked over his shoulder as he darted into the classroom.

Blair looked up at the sign and called after Conner. "Why would Mr. Winchester be hugging Anders?"

Conner came to a halt so quickly, he had to hang onto the doorframe to keep from skidding. As it was, he was sort of teetering at a very awkward angle. "Dude, I dunno. I don't ask these questions. I just . . . ask different ones."

"Different ones?" Blair asked.

With the recollection of the last time, Setsuna's curiousity had her taking a walk in the hallways again. Sure enough, protesting. She looked at the sigh, then shifted her eyes toward Blair, then back at the sign again.

"...Huh." The grunt was about the most detailed assessment she'd give right now.

...How come Bel gets all the attention?

Ack, no, you don't want the attention, you dolt...

"Can I hug you today?" Blair asked, grinning at Setsuna.

Setsuna's eyes widened, but she caught herself enough to stop a gasp. "W...what?" she stammered, then concluded with a fierce, frowning, "No."

Considering the sign, Setsuna could only assume that Blair offered because...Blair knew. But...but how could he have known? She was pretty sure she never told him. The only concieveable way he would know was if Jude...but, no, Jude would never...

She sucked in a breath. Coincidence. Just coincidence. It had to be! Blair was just offering because he'd been offering and he knew she'd been depressed lately. It had nothing to do with this bizarre campaign.

...Or did it?

Blair blinked at her worriedly and lowered his sign. "Um...are you okay, man? It's just a hug."

John came out of the Danger Shop and then slowed to a stop when he saw Blair's sign, and just stared.

It was such a similar reaction to Bel's that Blair started laughing.

"I take it that this is your idea of a joke, Mr. Sandburg?" John asked. It would make so much more sense as a joke...
