Weiss wandered in, maybe a little nervous about his upcoming three hour tour minute dates. He sat on the couch and looked at Dawn. "How's it going? I'm Eric Weiss, by the way."

Dawn looked up from her book and smiled, "Hi, Eric. I'm Dawn--I think we have Prophecy class together. Are you new, or am I just that bad at paying attention?"

"No, you're still a bastion of awareness. I'm a noob," Eric said. "Which means you're probably not."

"Kinda in between. I got here at the beginning of the summer, so I was here for the mummies and jell-o dragons, but missed the zombies and the snow monsters," Dawn said. "You liking it here okay? And are you from somewhere with associated strange, or is this all new and big with the brain-breaky?"

Dean wandered in, drawn by the sound of the radio as he'd being going past. "Hey. No Buffy puppy this morning?"

"Buffy's happier chasing shoes anyway. Which reminds me that I need new flip-flops," Dawn giggled, "and I'm reading Jane Eyre and trying to learn Dolphin by Monday. What about you? Big plans for today?"

Dawn glanced at the packet. "No, I haven't gotten there yet, but hopefully sometime today. What about you?"

Lavender frowned. "Dolphin is not coming as easily to me as dog did."

"Okay, that's not good," Dawn eyed the packet a bit more warily now. "Although the canine has come in surprisingly handy."

Luke walked into the common room, slightly damp from his extended trip outside. "It's rainy!" he announced. "And cold!"

This was a bit of a revelation for a desert kid.

"Nah," Luke said, grinning. "Water from the sky's a bit of a novelty."

"Morning," Rory greeted the room cheerfully, having decided to seek out company and take her morning coffee upstairs to drink.

"Hey Rory," Dean greeted her with a smile. "How's it going?"

"Good," Rory replied, flinging herself onto a couch and not spilling her coffee. "How're you doing? Did Blair protest your dad's class again?"

"I think so. He had detention today so that's a pretty good sign that he did. Also, on the bright side, a pretty good sign that my Dad didn't kill him so..."
