Dean was up not early but at least it was still morning by the clock. Barely. For whole minutes yet. So he felt totally justified in making breakfasty type foods like bacon and eggs and hotcakes and calling it brunch

"Does she? I can't really tell, of course. But she seemed very 'cool'," Evie said, practicing one of her new words. "And I tipped her extra at the movie theatre, since she doesn't like working there, but was very helpful in spite of it."
"Hullo. I'm Evie Carnahan." Evie tried to hold out her hand, nearly unbalanced her plate, then had to grab it again. "Whoops. Sorry I can't shake you're hand. I'm new here, I live up on the fifth floor."
"Jake Gavin, I'm on second, but I'm exploring," Jake explained. "And I'm not new, but I was on holiday and now I don't know anyone again. Hey, I could've sworn I've seen you here before?"
"Well welcome back, then." Evie sighed. "Yes, she was me, or I am her? But not really. It was another Evelyn Carnahan. I have a feeling this may keep happening for a while."
"Evidently. Although it seems we're very similar. No one has said she was evil or a mummy or American yet. Just that she was on the Yearbook staff and almost dated Bel." She smiled. "Did you enjoy your holidays? Where did you go?"
"All over," Jake said happily and sipped her coffee. "We went sailing, and then we went to Hawaii for a bit. If you can find them, Hawaii has some really nice private beaches." She looked momentarily puzzled. "And some very strange dogs."
"I went with my dad and my boyfriend. I thought it was awesome, but Krycek kept insisting dad was trying to kill him." Jake shrugged. "He's weird, sometimes. And the dogs.. Okay, I swear I saw a teal coloured one grooving to Elvis Presley."
Evie blinked at that. "Your father and your boyfriend went on the trip with you? That must have been ... interesting. And teal dogs? Goodness. Do you think they're some kind of Polynesian sport, then? And, um." She started to turn red. "Who's Elvis Presley?"
"Oh." Evie made a note of that, as well as grooving, blushed a little, and said, "1916. London. And, um, not sure about the universe, but possibly a different one, I suppose, if there was that other Evelyn here." She had to ask, "Rock'n'roll? Is that like most modern music I've heard?"
Jake blinked slowly again. "Probably not. You know, I have some stuff on my computer... I could burn it on a cd for you if you like? Or do you have an iPod?"
