5th floor Common Room - Monday Monday morning.

Jul 24, 2006 08:47

It's Monday morning.

Everybody is back in the dorms.

You realize...

This calls for pancakes.

Lots, and lots, of pancakes.

Maybe a few eggs and a rasher of bacon five yards long. (Okay... Maybe no that much bacon.

There's definitely coffee.

Walter had a feeling there might be pancakes. After yesterday's truncated workout and otherwise hiding in his room unpacking and giving it a cleaning that would make even Alfred proud, Walter was ready to be sociable.

"Good morning. I see you knew I'd be hungry."

"You are always hungry. Much like myself sir." she says flipping some pancakes in the air.

"This is true." Walter grabbed a strip of bacon and grinned. "Some things rarely change. Other things do, so tell me about Saturday."

"That is also true." Pippi nodded.

"Saturday... Saturday was... Interesting. A little scary perhaps in retrospect. But interesting. I thought I was some girl named Jan. She was... is... whatever, an American, she thought it was like nine-teen fifty-something, and that she was starting her first day as a Senior in a place called Rydell, New Jersey. A lot of stuff Tim has said to me makes a lot more sense now."

Still groggy, tousle-headed, and wearing yesterday's clothes since he'd fallen asleep in them, Anders somehow made his way up to the fifth floor. Which, all things considered, might've been a minor miracle given that his eyes were still mostly closed.

"I could smell food three floors down," he said. Or meant to say.

It came out sounding more like "C'dsmllfdthfldn."

Yeah, jet lag from Caprica was a nasty thing.

"Anders? Walter looked surprised. "You're back. How did it go?"

"Eh." Anders rubbed his eyes and yawned. "'bout the opposite of what I thought. 'm out of practice."

Out of practice. Not what he expected. Those didn't add up to good results.

"Will you be able to try out again in the future?"

If there was one thing Sakurazaki had learned about drifting around to poke her head into random common rooms, it was that food was almost always a direct result. And, on a post-flight morning, this was crucial information to have.

She was very pleased to see her theory proved correct on her first try, the fifth floor common room, manifested in the form of pancakes.

"Ohayo!" she drifts in rather brightly for herself; her stomach also mummbles a greeting of sorts.

"Hullo!" Pippi waved a batter laden spoon. "Breakfast?"

"Yes, please!" Sakurazaki smiles, hand on her stomach to quiet a little rumble. "I was rather hoping I'd be finding some today."

"That's good because I was rather hoping on feeding some people today."

"Pancakes!" said Peter cheerfully as he walked into the room. "I love pancakes."

Pippi grinned at Peter from the stove.

"I suppose that means you'd like some then."

"Pllllllease?" asked Peter "I know I should be watching my figure but what the hell, you only live once."

Pippi nodded.

"Unless you're a Hindu, that's very true." she said loading up a plate for him.

After the gym, Peter followed his nose into the Common Room. "You, your highness, make the best pancakes in the world."

"You are too kind Sir Peter." she says loading up a plate for him. "
And flattery will get you nearly everywhere."

Peter grinned and accepted the plate. "It would only be flattery if it weren't not true, of course. As it is, I am just stating the truth."

"Who am I to argue with that?" she asks, making sure he has as much as he wants. "How was Saturday for you?"
