Peter was asleep, but starting to slowly wake up. And that's when he felt something weird at his back.
"Gah!" Peter cried, launching himself out of bed to the full wall on the side of his alcove. He looked down at his bed where mere seconds ago a gnome had been spooning him.
The extra warmth in bed had made fall more deeply asleep. He reached down to pet his 'dog's' head when he felt a distinct lack of fur, ears, and general dogginess.

Pause.
THUD.
"WHAT THE HELL?!"

That doesn't stop him from talking though.
"Mmmph. Yes, Aeryn. I'd love more rum."

"Did he just say Aeryn's name?"

So when the gnome tried to cuddle him, he cuddled right back. "Mmmmm."
Then it registered that whatever he was cuddling, it wasn't person-shaped. "Um. What?"

He woke up with a jolt. "What is THAT?"
Reply
He'd immediately fallen asleep and now? Now he's cuddling what he thinks is Aeryn.
"Oh honey, I love you," he mutters before cracking his eyes open and looking into the eyes of a gnome. A gnome who is not Aeryn.
"What the hell!" And he scurries out of bed and eyes the gnome. The gnome eyes him back.
