Pangolin Campfire [Tuesday Night]

May 23, 2006 17:46

Bridge is sitting by the Pangolin campfire, the box of doughnuts he'd earned from this afternoon's workshop with Xander open nearby. He's not doing much of anything, just occasionally poking at the fire with a stick.

Anyone was welcome to come hang out and have a doughnut, if they wanted.

Bel wandered next door to the Pangolin campfire. "Hey," he said in greeting to Bridge and Parker.

"Very nice." Parker poked at it some more, and finished off her doughnut. "I talked to Broodboy today. He was hungover. Idiot."

"Hungover?" Bel repeated. "Why? Partying in LA doesn't sound like him."

"No, I think he just realized he'd been an idiot about something, and was dealing in his usual oh-so-competent way." Parker shook her head. "And he could party, if all those agents could talk him into going out. Jeez."

"Angel being an idiot about something?" Bel grinned. "Were vague hand gestures somehow involved?

"Possibly. Possibly? He avoided talking to someone altogether, and that came back and bit him on the ass. He never learns." She shook her head sadly. "At least he has a place to live now, though. I just hope paranoia demon vibes don't sink into building infrastructure."

"Yeah, he was telling me he had a hotel now," Bel said. "He didn't mention a demon, though."

"Something with a chain and a ball and more electricity than he remembered." Parker shrugged. "I was afraid to ask for more details."

"He vanquished it though? He's all right?" Bel asked, concerned, but trying to to appear too concerned. "He sounded okay on the phone."

"Oh, yeah. That was a few days ago. He's probably already moved on to killing other things now." Parker rolled her eyes. "Or possibly he's staring in Blue Heel Journals, and didn't feel like telling me."

Bel blinked at that imagery. And blinked again. And may have daydreamed just a little bit. "Huh, guess it wasn't a big deal if he didn't mention it to me," he finally said. "He knows I could shimmer out there to help if he needs me."

Parker debated mentioning that Angel had help... then decided to skip it. Who was she to get Wings into even *more* trouble? If Callisto kept on her tear, Bel would find out soon anyway.

"Probably not a big deal." Parker shrugged. "So. What's new in Koala cabin? Wake up to any waterfowl?"

"Waterfowl? No," Bel said. "And I'm afraid to ask why you asked that. It's been quiet over there, mostly. Phoebe and I are on one side, with Lana and Maia. Blair's over on the other. Not sure who else is."

"The Stickbugs did something with ducks. I could hear it this morning before I headed to archery. And that damn song was involved too." She snickered. "The Meerkats were not amused, I think." Parker poked at the fire again. "I think it's only a matter of time before they move on to other victims."

"That's right, I saw you in archery this morning," Bel said. "Should be a fun class. Never tried to shoot a bow before."

"I'm looking forward to the first screw-up. That probably means I'm evil. Ah, well."
