2nd Floor Common Room Kitchen - Afternoon

May 17, 2006 13:21

Elizabeth was pretty much fed up of doing nothing.

She pulled out a folder of recipes, and having checked ingredients and *handwavily* buying what she was missing, she headed to the kitchen to hopefully not create a disaster.

Not sure if Jamie might be doing another movie marathon, Willow went down to the 2nd floor common room.

She saw somebody trying to cook. "Oh. Um. Hi! Am I interrupting?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Yes, good. Much fewer incidents of biting going on. Although less good for those of us not bit as there's less to laugh and mock people for."

"So where'd the gremlins go anyway?" Willow asked. "Did they send them off to a farm?"

Elizabeth winced. "Um, not exactly," she said hesitantly.

Willow looked worried. "Wildlife sanctuary?"

"You know there are companies that deal with household pests?" Elizabeth began gently.

Willow's eyes got very wide with horror.

"It was very humanely done," Elizabeth said quickly, even though she had no clue how it had actually worked.

"Maybe they were very old gremlins?" Willow suggested, silently begging Elizabeth to agree to this. "In a lot of pain who needed this sort of thing?"

"You know, I think that's probably very likely," Elizabeth nodded, catching on quickly. "And all the younger, healthier ones escaped and are just waiting for plots unsuspecting victims."

Willow breathed a sigh of relief. "Just like the mice that infested the kitchen of my junior high!"

"Exactly!" Elizabeth replied. "It's natural selection. Survival of the fittest."

"I never did like that," Willow admitted. "I liked survival of the allest, though I suppose after a while it would get crowded. Plus nobody ever asked a carrot what it thought. Also I really like hamburgers, but I try to pretend they come from nasty cows that pick on the other cows for looking funny and not eating the 'cool' grass."

"It would do. Also, all the top predators would die out if they didn't get to eat the others," Elizabeth said, possibly mangling her biology slightly. "So, you could never be vegetarian, huh?"

"I can't even manage to keep kosher," Willow said. "Cheeseburgers were just too tempting."

"Cheeseburgers can be pretty tempting," Elizabeth agreed. "It would be why I've never given them up for Lent."
