Walter wheeled the grindylow tank into the pool room and looked around. So this was where much naked naughtiness went on

Smith hurries down from his office, having recieved the phone call.

Sure, checking the video feeds may have made sense. But sometimes personal interest is a good idea.

"What the hell is going on down here?"

Having received a warning call from Pip that Smith has left his office, Walter hauls ass out of the basement leaving Smith to find a grindylow-inhabited swimming pool and no Walter.

Smith looks around for students. Seeing absolutely none in the vicinity, as they'd all be in class.

He slips off his shoes, removes his earpiece, and leaps into the water, and begins wrangling and wrassling the grindylows out of the pool by sheer brute force.

After spending a good half hour wrassling the grindylows back to the apparently abandoned tank, Smith pops his neck, wipes a bit of the excess water off his suit, slips his shoes back on, puts his earpiece back in, and heads back to his office.
