Pinkie hadn't noticed anything strange going on today. She sang to herself all the time. Even having all the sounds in the bathroom suddenly coordinate with each other in a syncopated beat hadn't been that weird.

So when she went out to hang out on the deck and found a ukulele, she didn't think twice before she picked it up and started Read more... )

Hanna was resigned to every weekend being a weird weekend by this point. Last week she was a boy, this Saturday she was serenading Velcro about how fluffy he was.

"Hi, Pinkie," she said, shuffling over to flop down on a deck chair She was already humming.

And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
What's going on?
And I say, hey yeah yeah, hey yeah yeah
I said hey, what's going on?

Hanna's voice was soft but rather pleasant. "...aside from that."

"Well, for one thing, I had no idea I could play a ukulele!" Pinkie tossed the instrument to the side. "So I'd say today is pretty fun!"

"You just picked it up and suddenly, musical ability?" Hanna asked, amused despite herself. "Do you think you play any other instruments?" Because Pinkie-the-pony played drums, and she wouldn't bet money that she didn't play other things as well. At least on days of Magic Music Telling Feelings.

"That's a nice song," Pinkie said. She still hadn't realized anything was up today. "And yeah, I play the drums in a band back home with my friends. And in a band here at the Boards! But I've never really played any melodic ones, you know?"
