In Home Ec they had been taught how to make bread, and although Lucille hadn't been particularly successful until Hyacinthe came to her assistance -- which had been enjoyable -- she knew it was a skill that she might come to need in the future, even if she might not admit that to others

At the smell of freshly baked goods, Thorin found himself wandering on into the common room.

To see Lucille with flour in her hair.

"Good morning," he said with great dignity. Not amused at all.

Lucille immediately suspected him to be amused. She was aware that her appearance looked untidy.

"Good morning."

He would never! Wait, no. He totally would. And did.

"You're baking."

"So I am." She gave him a possibly insincere smile.

"Oooo! What'd you make, what'd you make?!"

Pinkie was unconditionally supportive of other people baking. So long as they weren't Applejack.

Lucille gave the pink girl an unimpressed look.

"Scones."

[sprinklesgoboom]

That was alright. Pinkie was immune to unimpressed looks. "Is it your first time trying them?" she asked brightly. "That's so exciting!"

"Is it?" Lucille felt sure already that she would never like Pinkie.
