"Oooh, pizza."

If Rapunzel was a little less enthused about that than she normally might be normally, well. It was kind of a rough day. But as tempting as it was to just go hide in her room, she kind of still wanted to be around a bunch of other people going through this, too. Which was good, because there were people in here she knew! (Even though she was going to give Gwen a wide berth after this afternoon's hugging confessional. Not that Rapunzel was averse to those things, but Gwen had jewelry in her face and probably didn't normally do that a lot.)

"Is she Kate Hudson?" She was just going to tilt her head at the television for a minute, thoughtfully, if they were making assessments about her. "She's pretty, but this movie seems dumb."

"No one is acting as if they have any sense," Hanna observed, nodding hello to Rapunzel. "But she is very pretty, and I suppose we feel intelligent by comparison to this script."

Said in a mild and resigned tone of someone who didn't really want to change the channel either.

"So we're supposed to feel smart because she's dumb, and jealous because she's pretty?" Rapunzel wondered. "Or just enjoy her prettiness? Because this movie is already making me think a lot more than I thought it was initially going to."

"I don't think I feel jealous." Hanna was not the best with emotions, but she was almost certain that wasn't what it was. "I like her hair. And her smile. But I also keep thinking of different things she could do to make the situation less dishonest. I haven't seen enough movies, is this typical?"

"From what I've seen, yeah," Rapunzel admitted, flopping into a chair and dragging her hair near to pool by her feet. "They're usually kind of filled with people doing dumb things to propel the plot along. No one acts like this in real life. No one I know, anyway, but I don't know that many people."

[hexentotchen]

"I don't either," Hanna admitted. "This is the first school I have ever attended." She paused, then took a breath. "I have questions about your hair, but I wonder if they are too personal to ask, and if you must answer them too frequently."

There! Maybe you could avoid responding to that?

Okay, Rapunzel had to smile at that, relaxing a little. "You can ask them!" she assured her. "Here -- it's all really my hair, I have about seventy feet of it, yes it takes a long time to brush, and no it doesn't get that heavy, but it's probably 'cause I'm used to it." She tilted her head, leaning her chin in her hand. "Those are the answers to the ones I get most often, to get you started."

"Oh, good. That's a relief." And it did answer about the first five questions that came to Hanna's mind. "It doesn't trip you? Or become a danger?" That's the way her mind worked. "It's beautiful, but I would be worried about that. Because I am always looking for dangers anyway."

"Sometimes it trips other people, and it's only dangerous if someone decides I'm worth kidnapping for it." STOP TALKING, RAPUNZEL. AGH. "I'm Rapunzel, by the way," she added, hurriedly, so she'd stop saying dumb things she shouldn't.

"Kidnapping?" Hanna frowned. "Has that happened before?... I'm Hanna. It's beautiful. I suppose you could make a great many wigs out of it. But. Kidnapping seems extreme?"

"Someone tried to steal my hair when I was a baby, but it turns brown and doesn't grow anymore," Rapunzel replied, shaking her head. "So I worry people'll take me if they want it."

But that seemed dangerous territory, and Rapunzel was eager for a topic change. "Are you new? Like, to here? I don't think I've seen you around before."

[hexentotchen]

"That's terrible..." Hanna paused, then nodded. All her other questions seemed to skirt the edge of 'too much.' "I've been here 12 days now. It's been -- very different from what I expected. Since I didn't expect to be here, but the school did, for some reason."
