Second Floor Common Room, Weds Afternoon/Evening

Kathy hoped no one on this floor would mind that she was taking over their common room, but she was starting to feel guilty about making the delivery people hike all the way up to the fifth floor with her orders. Fandom takeout tended to err on the excessive side, even for someone with as enhanced a metabolism as Kathy had developed. Camping on the ( Read more... )

On his way out to the preserve, Nathan noticed someone in the second floor common room and couldn't stop himself from stepping in. The heat outside could wait even if Nathan didn't take his sunglasses off when he wandered in.

Habit and all. He was still getting used to short sleeves and showing off scars and tattoos that no one else tended to see. Remembering his manners (or something), Nathan nodded at Kathy but didn't make eye contact.

That was still a deeply ingrained thing with him. "Evening," he said, finding his voice.

"Hi," Kathy said, giving a little wave. "Hungry? There's plenty of pizza for sharing."

She figured that was the most important thing. Introductions and things could wait, there was food to be offered.

"Oh uh, maybe I'll have some," Nathan said slowly since he'd been caught slightly off guard. People offering food was still new. "Why so much pizza? Are you having a party?"

For him, this was a ton of pizza so he didn't know.

"Please do. I'll have trouble eating it all by myself." Kathy said, not at all taking offense of his hesitation. She still had trouble not refusing something three times before accepting. "And no, no party. Well, I didn't plan one, but I wouldn't be opposed to people randomly showing up. I just think that the restaurants in town think that if they don't send a ton of food with each delivery, we'll starve or something."

Hey, guess who smelled food on his floor!

And guess who was more than happy to follow his nose to the smell of pizza, while he was at it?

"Oh! Hey! Decided to bounce down a few floors today for your grub, Mouse?" Sparkle was grinning as he flopped down onto the sofa. "Hungry much?"

"Some of us have high metabolisms," Kathy said serenely. "And didn't want to make the delivery guy hike five floors carrying this much food."

"Why not? The exercise would be great for him!" This was Sparkle, making a reach for a slice of vegetarian. What? It was there. "How's it going, anyway? Done all your classes, yet?"

"You like the exercise so much, you can get a delivery job," Kathy retorted. She didn't mind him grabbing a slice of pizza. She was happy to share. "And no. I've only had three of my classes so far. I still have Driver's Ed, the class with the crazies, heroing, community service, and teamwork. You?"
