Sia hadn't come into the common room expecting... well, anything out of the ordinary, so she probably looked a little surprised.

"Was there a party and I wasn't invited?"

Isabelle shrugged, then gestured at the vaguely Hawaiian stuff. "All of that? Not my doing." And she nodded at the TV. "Neither is that, although I appreciate it."

"I brought the cake, though. But there's no party to the best of my knowledge, unless this is the worst surprise party I have ever seen."

Not that she'd actually seen many surprise parties. Or any.

"It's Fandom. It could very well be a surprise surprise party," Sia said. "And that is an especially impressive cake."

"What is that noise?" Celia was more alarmed than anything else when she entered the common room, though it only progressed into mild confusion from there. "...is someone having a party?"

Celia could only stare at the cake for a moment, then ventured, "...that is a cake? Are you sure?"

She'd seen some decadent sweets in her life, but that cake was an entirely new level of "decadent."

Isabelle looked amused.

"Well, it said 'cake' on the receipt... And also in the name of the business."

Isaac...had not remembered Isabelle's birthday. He was a guy, guys didn't remember birthdays. But, hey, he happened to be in the common room today so that was something.

"What's going on here?"

Isabelle gestured all around the room with one sweeping arc of her glass-free hand.

"A grand party, obviously."

No party. But the TV had moved on to the Spice Girls!

"Obviously," he said. "Your idea?"

Isabelle pointed at the cake.

"Well, that was."

She was sure he was absolutely shocked.
