Cecil was walking back to his room...well, more sort of "bouncing" back after the high of actually getting to still do radio, when he saw there was actually someone in the common room.

He poked his head in and waved. "Hi! I'm Cecil." Oo, food. Food sounded good. He'd been briefed on the non-rules of ownership in the common rooms, so he came all the way in and headed for the refrigerator.

[slow here, too.]

"Gert," she replied a bit wryly, looking up from her laptop and taking in Cecil's obvious good mood. "You new?"

Newbie learned fast. About the food rules, anyway.

"I just got here this semester," he confirmed. "I like your hair! Oo, bread!" He still couldn't quite get over the non-lethal wheat and wheat by-products. He found some butter and started in on toast.

Gert grinned to herself at the hair compliment, but quirked an eyebrow at his enthusiasm about the bread.

"Buddy, anyone ever tell you your standards are kind of low?"

And here was Atton, bored and well aware the good bars wouldn't open for a few more hours, wandering into the second floor common room in search of something to eat. "Couldn't find something dead to grill?" he asked, nodding at the apples before going straight for the fridge.

"It's Old Lace's day off from hunting," she quipped. "And my grilling ability is somewhere in the below-zero range. Stove's all yours for your carnivorous needs."

"Like there's anything in this fridge that actually came from an animal," Atton muttered, poking through some really weird pink-looking goop.

"You'd be surprised," Gert noted, jerking her head in Cecil's direction. "That kid says bread turns into snakes where he's from. Try making a sandwich."

"So, if you were curious, only having classes one day a week is a lot more boring and less cool than it sounds," Bay noted as she wandered over to the kitchen. "Hey."

"Sucks," Gert said, wrinkling her nose. "I think I had that once and yeah, it was boring. What are the classes?"

She paused, dipped an apple slice in the glob of honey, and then held up her plate in Bay's direction. "Apple?"

"Sure," Bay said, snatching up the treat. "I'm taking live performance and literature. They're both tomorrow. What did you take this time around?"

"Teamwork and current affairs," Gert replied. "Monday and Thursday. Still not exactly what I'd call a packed schedule, but yours is worse. Maybe start making a lot of mainland trips?"
