Peter had gotten up, sighed, rolled his eyes, wandered around-- and homed in on the one face that was somewhat familiar. He was mildly annoyed, but not as much as he could have been; years of Fandom had taught him that that reunion invitation he'd discarded might come back to bite him in the ass anyway.

"Now this looks... homey," he commented, hands stuck into the pockets of a suit that was far too expensive to have spent the morning pressed into a bouncy castle.

"Hey, it's your life," Peter said, shrugging both of his shoulders. "I'll go on and deal with having the cutest kids in the multiverse. It's a horrible burden."

"I'm sure it is," Envy agreed with a lopsided smirk. "And since I have none of my own, I don't have to get into a fight with you about whether your kids really are the cutest. I can just claim handsomest husband for myself and be satisfied."

"If this is homey, then I fear your home," Jessica joked.

"It looks like this, but it's about a hundred times as large and made of stone," Peter said casually.

"I'd argue that the lack of bounceability is a significant difference," Jessica said.

"Or you could say it's just a consequence of using different building materials," said Peter, who was really not an architect.

"Form follows function," Jessica pointed out. She wasn't an architect either, but she knew that phrase somehow. "You don't want people bouncing, be boring and pick a different material."

"Hence the stone," Peter said, shrugging lightly. "I think I prefer the stone one."
