Stiles knew he was going to be forced to run at some point this weekend so he decided to counteract that dreaded exercise by shoving as many marshmallows as he possibly could into his face right now. He wasn't at his own campfire because he really wasn't trying to be around Jackson more than he already had to be. Their nightly accidental cuddles

"Okay, the flying flaming marshmallow thing is pretty cool," Bay deadpanned from across the campfire. She'd just been walking to her castle, but she'd stopped to watch the scene. "And points for not hitting anybody."

She didn't think she'd talked to this guy before, but it hardly mattered.

Stiles jumped a little when he heard someone's voice but tried to play it off as...well as just him being weird. "Oh, oh yeah, flinging marshmallows is a talent of mine. I worked hard at it."

"It's good to have goals in life," Bay said, flopping onto a bench by the firepit. "Is it a distance sport, or are you judged based on form, or....?"

"Distance, definitely," he said with a nod. "And not catching the forest on fire."

"I think there's a bear out there crying over this," Tony remarked, eyeing the molten goo warily.

"I'm feeding the wildlife!" Did bears like marshmallows? "They can lick them off the tree."

"Only you can prevent forest fires," Tony replied seriously.

Oh, so seriously.

"Yeah I'd like to see a marshmallow cause a forest fire," he said. "It'd probably smell good."

"I did that last night," Gert remarked, claiming a log to sit on. "Rookie mistake. But aim for the dino bouncy castle, if you do it again."

"And have my own bouncy castle be invaded by more people?" Stiles asked. "I don't think so."

The three he had were more than enough.

"I was thinking the school might recognize these are a fire hazard and send us all back to the dorms," Gert explained. "Too optimistic?"

"Definitely too optimistic," Stiles said. "From what I understand this happens a couple times every summer. The outdoors thing, not the bouncy castle thing in general."

"Poor marshmallows," Alex said to her temporary castle-mate, feigning sadness.

"They are noble sacrifices to the greater good," he said. "The good of not catching me on fire."

Alex thought about that before nodding. "Yeah, okay. That's a noble cause. They were brave."

"Indeed they were," he said. "Too bad they're not Peeps. It'd look much more dramatic."

When Maddie wandered to the campfire, the first thing she noticed was the marshmallow tree.

"I'm pretty sure you're supposed to eat those?"

"They were on fire," Stiles explained. "Too on fire. My initial urge is to fling them away from me."

Though now more people were around he had been blowing them out instead. It was less fun.

"I'm going to sit somewhere not directly in front of you," Maddie decided immediately, taking a seat somewhere to the side of him.

"Hey, I've been good since people started coming around," Stiles told her. "I've just been blowing them now."

That could have been worded better.
