Jackson glared at the toaster, and his look was only somewhat milder once he glanced over at the new girl.

"It's a piece of crap, regardless of who's yelling at it."

"What's wrong with it?" Bay asked, coming toward the toaster with skeptical eyes. "It's not exploding or leaking green goo or anything, is it?"

Jackson gave a huff of a sigh. He knew he was overreacting, for once, and he didn't like making a fool of himself. Still, his shoulders looked way too tight for someone dealing with an unfriendly toaster.

"It's jammed."

And at the time of his shouting at it, both the pop tart as well as the appliance had still been too hot to extract one from the other.

"That's not very nice," Jim said, tsking Jackson slightly. "I just asked you a simple question. Maybe the toaster had called you a name."

"The toaster is a piece of crap, and I should sue the school for potential endgangerment."

Tell us how you really feel, Jackson.

Emily knew what it felt, but it wasn't like she was about to share. Or even mention it. Or even think about it. Not thinking about it.

"Go easy on the kitchen appliance, I need to use that too," said as she looked over.

"Why would you want to?" Jackson groused. "It barely works. Not worth the trouble."

[Apologies, my home internet has been unexpectedly dead like a dead thing since yesterday afternoon!]

"I still want to try, alright? You can be all I-told-you-so afterwards."

Kitchen appliances loved her, alright?

[ Ah, I know what you mean. If SP is fine for you, I'm game. ]
