Realizing that you'd been a recluse the last half of a week was great motivation to making sure that never happened again. Jim was the type of guy who surrounded himself with people for both entertainment and so he wouldn't have to think too hard about his own life. Who knew what he'd find down that path when left to his own devices ( Read more... )

With the weather slowly getting colder, Karolina was resolving to spend as much time outside as she possible could. Today, that involved finally checking out the deck.

But then when she realized it was already occupied, she hesitated a bit, thinking he might want to be left alone. "Um, hi?

"Howdy," Jim greeted, giving her a friendly wave. He'd already tucked his phone away when even that had gotten boring. "Finally, someone to save me from talking to myself. After awhile, you start to wonder about your sanity, you know."

Karolina chuckled a little, and decided it was probably okay to come on the deck, yes. She even went so far as to plop herself down on one of the chairs. "I don't know, they keep saying Fandom is weird," she said. "That could be par for the course."

"Don't tell me that," Jim said, shaking his head. "Don't tell me that one of this place's little...quirks is that people can talk and answer themselves and not find that a little insane."

Liara had been dragging her books all around the island all week, and this was no exception. With a copy of The Wonders of the Multiverse in her hand, she ducked out onto the deck where she found, to her immediate flustered consternation, that someone else had beaten her there.

"Er. Hello," she said.

"Is no one happy to see me today?" Jim asked, giving Liara a frown that he really didn't mean. "All this hesitation and sadness. It's really doing things to a guy's ego here."

"Oh, I am sorry," Liara said, looking genuinely contrite. "I did not mean to offend you, I was just surprised!"

"Relax, relax," Jim said, holding up a hand and regretting joking with someone who didn't really get his type of joking. "I was kidding with you. Just teasing, I promise. I'm not offended."

Olive had been walking Ally when she got the text, and made a point to stop by the deck, puppy's leash in hand, to see whether it was true.

"You can't just text me lies, James," she scolded, already tying off Ally's leash to the side of the deck. "And tell me you're sunbathing in the nude. I mean, people will believe you."

"And look what said text made you do," Jim pointed out, gesturing towards her. "You came to the deck to see because you just could not resist!"

"I was coming to see if it was true and then bring you pants!"

...mostly.

"Also, I was already out," she sniffed primly. "So it was easy to come by. No special effort exerted."

She still would have exerted effort to see him naked, yes. Look, she had eyes.

"Bring me pants?" Jim questioned, raising an eyebrow. Why he was asking about that, he'd never ever know. "You just happen to have guy pants lying around that would fit me or something?"

Cade held up his comlink. "You lied, man," he said. "I don't see any dancing girls on the lawn. I'll cry myself to sleep."

"Man, I was hoping maybe you were still a girl and would do the dancing," Jim joked, laughing. "No joy for me either!"

Cade snickered. "The breasts disappeared when I woke up on Monday. I don't miss them too much--I like 'em better on real girls."

"You and me both," Jim chuckled, glancing down at his chest. "But, I will always fondly remember my days with breasts. Dancing girls would be pretty sweet right now."
