Halloween Mixer - 6th Floor, Monday After Classes

Oct 31, 2011 08:04

When people arrived for the party, the sixth floor was decked out with what appeared to be half of a party store. Like Halloween got sick all over the place. With glitter. You couldn't have Halloween without an inordinate amount of glitter, right? It was high school, this was a law ( Read more... )

Tony was, of course, there in his awesome Iron Fist costume. Who didn't want to dress up like a kung-fu fighting badass from badly made movies?

At least it was better than Ben's costume?

Um. Nothing was better than Ben's costume, Tony.

Rosella had only figured out who the masked gentleman was by the merit of his voice, and so that helped her decide that she certainly had to clamor on over to him in her knight's armor with a smirk on her face.

"You simply must explain this costume to me," she said with a stately demand. "It's a bit on the flamboyant side for a ninja, though I do rather like the crest."

"I'm Iron Fist," Tony said, striking a pose. Like a giant nerd. "He's a kung-fu guy from the movies."

"Iron Fist," Rosella repeated the name with a thoughtful tone and then she let out a laugh. Certainly guilty of her own nerdiness on occasion herself, she struck her own pose, one that involved lifting a balled up hand in her gauntlet between them. "It would seem a more fitting name for myself tonight! What is kung-fu?"

"Martial arts?" Tony suggested helpfully. "How do you know ninjas and not this?"

"Well," said Rosella, "there are many forms of martial arts, are there not? I am vaguely familiar with some of them, such as ninjitsu, though this kung-fu is one I am not sure is widely practiced where I'm from. Actually, to be honest, neither is ninjitsu, but I've read about it in stories. I take it, then, that kung-fu does not place as much emphasis on stealth."

"No, it's just ass-kicking." NO, TONY. NO.

"And it isn't difficult," asked Rosella, innocently, "to kick ass in such a..." No, those weren't her eyes drifting, shush, "confining costume?"

"Armor is less easy to move in than you think," Tony replied wryly.

"Oh," said Rosella, with a clattering shrug of her shoulders, "I know armor is extremely bulky, but I also know that it's far more protective than what appears to be little more than a second skin."

"If I'm a kung-fu master, I can move fast enough to not need armor."

"That," said Rosella, giving her weapon (which, she realized a little too late, should really be a shovel) a twirl before leaning on it, "sounds almost like a challenge, Iron Fist, but since this is a celebration, I hardly see it the proper place for such a battle to begin. All's the more pity, I suppose; it would be fascinating to get a taste of this kung-fu mastery that you speak of."

"We could have a kung-fu marathon," Tony suggested. "So you could see what I mean."

"Kung-fu marathon?" Color Rosella greatly intrigued.

"Spend a weekend just watching movies." A beat. "And eat pizza. It's a thing."

"Oh!" At first, this idea seemed to please Rosella greatly, but then her eyes widened a little and she looked a bit sheepish. Her eyes roamed over the party and, while barely keeping the smirk off her face, she nodded toward Ben.

"But what should he think of our consuming his brethren?"
