"Yesterday's class on sexual education and contraception was incomplete and ridiculous," Emma stated once everyone had arrived. "So. We are going to discuss this properly, and have some 'girl talk' while we are at it."

And then moving quickly on in the futile hope that Emma wouldn't notice the switch back to present tense, she added, "My people use a contraceptive brew, back home. A cup a day will keep you from conceiving. It works whether it's just you or your boyfriend drinking it, but it's better if you both do, of course. It's one hundred percent effective so long as you remember every day, but if you're both drinking it, it minimizes the chance of you both forgetting one morning." Calling in her supplies, she tossed a few into the pile. "I'll be happy to make as many as needed," she added.

"Which actually brings up a good point," Emma said briskly. "Should you decided to engage in sexual activity - and again, you do not have to if you do not want to or do not feel ready - do not think you can mix & match. While you could chose to use a condom and birth control, you cannot decide to drink Karla's tea one day and take a pill the next day. It doesn't work like that and your body may hate you."
"And always, always, consult with a doctor before changing methods. You need to be safe and healthy, and that includes informed decisions."

She'd actually be grateful for questions that would give her something to do.
