Third Floor Common Room; Sunday Afternoon [ 02/13 ].

When one considered the situation, and the fact that Malaxandra was clearly from a Crazy Future that Would Never Exist, one was able to take this whole thing in stride. Besides, he rather enjoyed the company of his fake half-vampire daughter, and he would always enjoy the company of his fake future councilor that fakely birthed her, and so they ( Read more... )

"She has your taste in movies," Maladicta replied slowly.

Alexander immediately started shaking his head, smirking. "Nay," he said, "I beg to differ; this is very distinctly your influence."

"...I have far better taste than this."

"I wouldn't be so certain," Alexander offered. "Though, to be honest, I actually think this might be my sister's influence at work."

Amazingly, somehow Eloise had managed to escape her father today. Imagine that. Since she'd had so much fun in the third-floor common room yesterday, that was her go-to spot for today. She wandered in like she owned the place, snuck up behind the couch, and remarked loudly, "I don't like this movie."

Alexander jumped a little from the voice suddenly behind him, but then he chuckled as he glanced back at the little girl and responded, "Don't worry. Neither do I."

He wasn't sure anyone would like this movie, except, miraculously, Malaxandra.

"Do you like ice cream?" he asked. "We have some of that, too."

Because, yes, Alexander, filling the children up with ice cream was always a great idea.

"Mother doesn't allow ice cream," Eloise lamented regretfully. "Do you have any snow peas?

Yes, Lilah Morgan actually did feed her daughter snow peas.

"I...didn't think to look," Alexander admitted. "But I don't believe we do. Are snow peas your favorite?"

It seemed oddly specific, but if you had a favorite food, that wasn't a bad way to go...

Elphaba had amazingly spent her entire yesterday alone in her room, trying to float a pencil with her magic.

She'd actually gotten it about a centimeter up, but every time she did that, she got so excited she'd lost her concentration.

So when she entered a common room and discovered a child in the company of Alexander and Maladicta, she was more than a little confused.

"Is this someone's little sister?" she asked.

Eloise caught sight of Elphaba and gaped.

"Are you from the Deathwok Clan?" she asked eagerly, peering up at Elphaba excitedly. Wow! She'd never seen one of those in real life before. In Daddy's books, certainly, but never in person!

"I don't know what that is," Elphaba said. "So I'm definitely not, unless it's some term for Oz from some culture I'm not familiar with. Then again, I don't think Oz is known outside of itself in anything other than the story for children I've been told about."

"No, no, the Deathwok Clan is demons!" Eloise exclaimed, definitely getting more excited now. "Are you sure you're not one?" she asked tilting her head. "You're green."

Claudia had answered Stan's "I'm boooooored" with "what the hell am I supposed to do about that?", so Stan had wandered off.

"You know," he said, wandering right into the common room and watching the television for a moment. "That could totally happen if someone started messing with Tolkein's wedding ring."

"Who's Tolkein?" Melinda asked, looking back from the TV at the older boy. "Can we make dragons?"

Hey. Her dad lots of cool stuff. Maybe dragon-making wasn't out of the question.

"Old famous writer guy. And, no, the ring's all locked up. Gramps never even lets me near that section."

"Awwwww," was Melinda's take on that. "I want a dragon. Daddy won't get me a puppy." To a five-year-old, each looked equally likely. "Have you seen dragons?"

Melinda and William had managed to wear their mother out to the point where she was sleeping, and decided to go explore in the dorm. They left a note! (IN TV ROOMZ. BAK L8TR.)

William had stayed downstairs, but Melinda had gone Investigating up one flight. Hmmm. Ooo! Dragons on the TV! She leaned forward to watch and then looked around at the other people in the room.

"Hello," Alexander gave the small girl a smile when he noticed her peeking in to watch. "Would you like to come join us?"

"'kay!" Melinda wandered over to look at him closer, and said, "I'm Melinda. I'm visiting my mom. She's taking a nap. I don't need naps any more."

"We all need naps sometimes, Melinda," Alexander informed her with a chuckle. "And my name is Alexander of Daventry. Do you mind terribly if I ask who your mother might be?"
