Fifth Floor Common Room, Saturday All Day

Aug 28, 2010 16:26

It wouldn't be accurate to say that that Squall was holding a Welcome Picnic Protest Party, because... well, 1) the idea was stupid, 2) that was a lot of work for something he didn't care about, 3) it wasn't like he was going to INVITE anyone else, and 4) whatever ( Read more... )

Yes, Jenny knew that this wasn't her floor, but she couldn't find tea on her floor, so she came staggering up to this one, still clutching her kettle. "Is there tea?" she asked hopefully.

Squall shrugged. "I don't know. You're the one with the kettle."

He certainly hadn't bothered making any tea.

"Yes," Jenny said in a sort of parody of patience, "but there's no tea in it."

Squall rolled his eyes. "Coffee maker's there," he told her, pointing. "Check near it." There were usually tea bags in with the sugar and non-dairy creamer, weren't there?

It wasn't until toward the end of the picnic, of course, that Ariel was going to bother going up and seeing her room, hopefully still in all its collected glory, but she heard people in the common room, and how could she turn down an opportunity to talk to people?

She poked her head in to see who was there.

"Oh! Hi, Rinoa's kind-of boyfriend! Happy belated birthday!"

Squall gave her a grumpy look. "I'm NOT her boyfriend," he insisted. "And birthdays suck."

There was something different about Ariel today... But Squall didn't care enough to try to figure out what.

"Nuh-uh," Ariel said, coming in and flopping on the couch. She was, of course, ready to book it right out of here, though, at the first sign of Certain People, which was why her eyes might have danced to the door frequently. "Birthdays are incredible! They're days just for you and another step toward being older and more mature! Rinoa mentioned you guys went out for it; did you have fun? Did she get you something really, really, really good?"

"It was all right," Squall answered with a shrug. By which he meant of course that going out with Rinoa was WONDERFUL, but he wasn't ever ever going to admit it.

"I'm already mature," he informed her with a bit of a pout. "Getting older just means being in worse health."

Cloud wasn't a big fan of masses, so he would sign the Party Statutes and join Squall.

Or something.

So he sat next to Squall, eyed him for a moment, and then back at the show. "Oddly relaxing", muttered as a car was turned into a flaming ball of twisted metal.

[ooc: I'll just be here telling myself this is one meeting that should've happened a long time ago, don't mind me~]

"Less annoying than other things," Squall agreed. He eyed Cloud back.

[ooc: yes, it should have! Sorry to drop the thread on you last night. I'm running out the door now, but will be back later.]
